ORLANDO, Fla. (3/3/2026)--- On Monday, the Cobbers lost a 1-point decision in their opening match in Florida. On Wednesday Concordia turned the tables and battled through a tight back‑and‑forth to come away with a 4–3 victory over Adrian.
The win is the first for Concordia on their annual spring trip to Florida.
The Cobbers set the tone early by taking two of the three doubles matches to grab the 1–0 lead. Shireen Durrani and Alyssa Sommerfeld were dominant at the No. 2 spot with a 6–1 win, and Annalise Skrade and Ava Lowman followed with a 6–4 victory at No. 3. Adrian claimed the top flight, but Concordia's pair of wins secured the doubles point and early momentum.
That advantage proved valuable as the teams split the six singles matches. Durrani delivered one of the day's key performances with a straight‑set win at No. 3, closing out a tight second‑set tiebreak 7–0. Erin Borchard added another convincing point at No. 4 with a 6–0, 6–1 victory, and Skrade continued her strong spring by cruising to a 6–1, 6–1 win at No. 5.
Adrian countered with wins at the first, second and sixth singles positions, but Concordia's trio of singles victories, paired with the doubles point, sealed the match.
With the win, the Cobbers improve to 3–6 on the year and are 1-1 on their Florida trip.
