Like The Cobbers, Roeske Claims A Double Honor
Five days ago, Concordia claimed the MIAC Outdoor Meet championship after also winning the indoor title, and now head coach Marv Roeske has also claimed the double as he was named the MIAC Outdoor Coach of the Year to go with his indoor award.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (5/14/26)---Indoor and outdoor titles were in style for the Cobbers this season. On Saturday, Concordia claimed the MIAC Outdoor Meet championship after also earning the crown at the conference indoor meet and on Thursday, head coach Marv Roeske completed his double by being named the MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year months by the conference coaches after receiving the same award for the indoor season.
The MIAC Coach of the Year honor is Roeske's eighth overall MIAC Coach of the Year honor and sixth for the outdoor season. In addition to his indoor and outdoor honors this season, Roeske was also named the MIAC Coach of the Year in cross country in 2000.
Roeske claimed the MIAC Outdoor Coach of the Year award after guiding the Cobbers to their first conference outdoor championship since 2004. Concordia earned the outdoor crown by having at least one Top 3 performance in 11 of the 22 events.
Concordia finished the MIAC Outdoor Championship Meet with 172 total points which was 21 clear of the next team. The 172 team points were also the most ever scored by a Concordia team at the conference outdoor meet.
