The first 6-minutes and final 4-minutes proved to be the difference in the Cobbers’ series opener at St. Scholastica. Concordia allowed three goals in that 10-minute stretch, and fell 7-3 in Duluth.

Concordia scored two more power play goals but it wasn’t enough in its series finale at Aurora. The Cobbers scored a go-ahead goal midway through the second period, but then conceded a pair of unanswered strikes and lost 3-2.

Concordia scored a pair of power play goals, opened the game with a shorthanded goal and held Aurora scoreless in its six power play chances to earn a 4-1 victory.

2-Sided Cobbers Gain Sweep Over Pipers

On Friday it was the offense that carried the Cobbers to a 6-3 win in the series opener against Hamline. On Saturday, junior goalie Aaron Dickstein led a stifling defense that allowed Concordia to post a 2-1 victory and grab a sweep in the key MIAC series.

A cold front rolled into St. Cloud midway through the second period when Concordia watched a close 4-3 game against St. John’s turn into a frigid 7-3 defeat in the MIAC opener for both teams.
