NORTHFIELD, Minn. (1/24/26) — Concordia battled back with two goals from Caden Triggs in the third period, but couldn't overcome 3-goal second period from host St. Olaf and lost 5-2 on Saturday afternoon.
The opening 20 minutes were scoreless as both teams settled in and traded chances. St. Olaf applied early pressure, but first-year goaltender Noel Olsonawski stood tall, turning aside multiple quality looks to keep the game even. The Cobbers successfully killed off two St. Olaf power plays, blocking shots and clearing rebounds to escape the period unscathed. CC generated late momentum with scoring chances from Will Hofer and Jackson Lucia, but the teams headed into the first intermission tied 0–0.
St. Olaf broke the deadlock midway through the second period, scoring three goals in a span of just under nine minutes. Tony Leahy opened the scoring at 7:04 before goals from Connor McNaughton (15:08) and Willy Johnson (16:00) extended the lead to 3–0. Concordia-Moorhead continued to create offensive opportunities, including a shot off the pipe from Ben Luedtke, but was unable to find the back of the net. Olsonawski remained steady in goal as the Cobbers trailed 3–0 after two periods.
The Cobbers showed resilience in the final frame, getting on the board with a short-handed, unassisted goal from Caden Triggs at 4:57 to cut the deficit to 3–1. St. Olaf answered with back-to-back goals from Jonathan Panisa at 6:55 and 11:27 to regain control. Triggs responded once more for CC at 11:53, scoring his second goal of the night to make it 5–2.
Concordiapushed late with the extra attacker and generated multiple offensive-zone chances, but St. Olaf held on as time expired.
Olsonawski finished the game with 20 saves.
The Cobbers return home on Wednesday, February 4, hosting the Hamline Pipers for a 7:00 p.m. puck drop.
