Concordia had five individuals earn NWCA Scholar All-Americans. Ty Bisek, Ayden Friese, Elijah Hunt, Kellen Schauer and Gabe Zierden all received the honor and helped the Cobbers finish in the Top 15 in the Team Scholar awards.

Zierden's Hollywood Finish Leads Cobbers At Regionals

In a storyline only a Hollywood scriptwriter could create, senior Gabe Zierden won the Upper Midwest Regional championship at 197 and was one of seven place winners for the Cobbers.

Gabe Zierden won both of his matches at the NCAA Regional which gave him 100 wins in his Cobber career.
7 Cobbers Advance To Day 2 At NCAA Regionals

It was the lucky number seven for the Cobbers on Friday at the NCAA Upper Midwest Regional Meet. Concordia had seven wrestlers advance to Saturday after a rollercoaster Day 1.

Bisek's Pin Provides Highlight vs. No.1-ranked Augsburg

Concordia led No.1-ranked Augsburg after two matches, but then ran into eight straight Top 6-ranked wrestlers and lost 45-6. Ty Bisek picked up his 23rd win of the year when he posted a pin in the second period of his match at 133.

Fast Start Leads To Another Win Over The Dragons

Concordia did its best Noah Lyles impersonation as they sprinted out of the blocks, won the first four matches against MSU Moorhead and cruised to a 27-17 win at Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse. The Cobbers won six of the first seven dual bouts on the way to posting their 12th victory over the Dragons in the last 13 dual meets.

Seniors Deliver On Senior Night Celebration

No.23-ranked Concordia honored its seven seniors before its Senior Celebration Night and then five of those seniors went out and honored their teammates by getting wins in the Cobbers’ 33-13 win over the University of Jamestown.

4 Podium Finishes In Final Top-Level Regional Tune Up

Concordia recorded four podium finishes and 28 wins among their 10 wrestlers who traveled to Illinois to compete in the final high-level invitational against the top regional competition.

It wasn’t the outcome they wanted, but the Cobbers returned from the NWCA National Duals with a pair of wins and several quality individual performances. Concordia dropped its first two duals of the tournament, but responded by posting wins over Olivet (Mich.) and Aurora (Ill.).

Concordia moved up three spots in the latest NWCA Division III national rankings. The Cobbers opened the year ranked 18th in the NWCA poll, and through the strength of their early-season competition and results, have moved up to No.15 in the DIII rankings.

Gabe Zierden captured his second straight multi-team invite title as he led Concordia at the Augsburg Invite. Zierden was one of six Cobber wrestlers to post Top 8 finishes.
