Concordia battled for 60 minutes but fell 3-1 to College of Saint Benedict on Friday afternoon at the Moorhead Sports Center.
Concordia never trailed in its series opener with No.6-ranked Hamline until the final shot of the game. The Cobbers played one of the best games of their season and were either leading or tied with the league-leading Pipers for 60:56 but unfortunately a goal in the first minute of overtime sent CC to a 4-3 loss.
The Concordia-Moorhead women’s hockey team earned a hard-fought 4–2 home victory over St. Catherine on Saturday, using late-game execution to secure the win.
It was a game of 3-goal streaks for Concordia and St. Catherine in the series opener on Friday. Unfortunately for the Cobbers, it was the Wildcats who came up with the final 3-goal binge and came away with a 6-3 victory.
It was a give-and-take affair between the Cobbers and St. Olaf in the series finale on Saturday. Unfortunately for Concordia, it finished in the give category as the Oles took the 5-4 win in overtime.

MOORHEAD, Minn. (1/16/26) — Concordia-Moorhead used a strong third period to earn a 5–3 victory over St. Scholastica on Saturday, improving to 6-8-0 overall and 3-4-0 in MIAC play.
Concordia scored three goals in the final 25 minutes of play to break open a 1-1 tie, claim a 4-2 victory at Wis.-Superior and earn a 3-game sweep over the Yellowjackets for the season. .
Concordia was given a tough task to open the 2026 calendar year as they squared off against No.1-ranked Wis.-River Falls on the road. The Cobbers kept the game close for the first 35 minutes but then gave up three of the final four goals and lost 5-2.
A fast start, special teams success, and a strong performance in net powered Concordia to a 4–1 victory over Wisconsin–Superior, as the Cobbers built an early lead and never relinquished control.
Concordia scored the final two goals in the series opener with Wis.-Superior and outlasted the Yellowjackets 3-1 to pick up its second straight win and third in the last five games.
Concordia gave up a goal in all three periods against No.3-ranked Augsburg and lost 5-0 in the series finale between the two teams.
The conference opener was a tall task for the Cobbers on Friday. They had to play on the road and at defending MIAC champion, and No.3-ranked, Augsburg.

Goaltender Abby Huselid kept the Cobbers in the game with a number of key saves, while Concordia’s offense created multiple chances but was unable to beat a strong UW-Eau Claire defense.
A pair of goals in the first 11:09 proved to be the difference in the Cobbers’ 3-1 season-opening loss against Wis.-Eau Claire.
